πρὸς ὀρθὰς apud Hyginum est normaliter, seu ad rectos angulos erectum. Norma enim ex angulis rectis componitur, et normalis linea est, quae cum alia recta linea rectos angulos facit, sive ex media erigatur, sive ex fine. Vitruvius, l. 9. c. 8. linea in planicie et ex ea media πρὸς ὀρθὰς erigatur, ut sit ad normam, quae dicitur gnomon. Quod formâ literae L. exprimit vetus Agrimensor, apud Salmas. ad Solin. p. 669. Apud eosdem Agrimensores, Rectura limitum, aliter rigor dicitur, Vitali recta series, Graecis ἐυθεῖα ἀκολουθία: vide infra.
